This fridge replaced one that, after 10 months, showed growing, significant rust on the exterior stainless steel.Now, there is rust starting already on the freezer door. This is really poor. I know Whirlpool doesn't cover cosmetic faults, but this is the SECOND fridge to rust out. First one took 2 months, this one a few months longer, but it is rusting. Bad stainless steel composition.The fridge cools as it should. Side by side style is easiest to get into and use. While noisy, the icemaker works well, doesn't jam and makes plenty of ice (the fast ice feature is helpful on hot summer days).We will look for other brands next time.

Purchased this product for our new home. We love the options available on it and how spacious it is. With a family of 6 we NEED space and options. The only issue we have had with the product is the icemaker. It makes ice but if you aren't constantly emptying the ice bucket inside the door - the ice freezes up and will not dispense. It's a HUGE hassle. Otherwise great product. Food stays cold & fresh as promised.

I knew I wanted a side by side fridge since I am on the taller side, so leaning down to get things out of the freezer with a french door, or bending down to actually look in my fridge with a top-freezer were not going to be an option. I've never had an in-door ice/water dispenser, so that was new for us, but it is quiet and I'm never bothered by the ice maker. Also the touch screen aspect of it is really nice and will be easy to clean!I enjoy the storage and options to move things around inside the refrigerator. It is overall extremely quiet and easy to clean. The only slight downside is the butter/enclosed container that seems to rub a little when we open it - nothing major though! Highly recommended all around!

We got this side by side to replace a french door model which wasn't big enough. On the plus side, it's very roomy, with lots of door space on the fridge side and three crisper bins, is quiet (except when new ice cubes fall into the ice cube bin). The LED lighting is great. It's new, of course, but so far it keeps steady temps and I'm looking forward to lower energy bills. My design complaints are that I wish the rear motor cover had been made of metal (or at least a durable material). It was made of rather thin cardboard. Also, the ice maker is slow, even on the "fast ice" feature and I would have given it five stars if the shelf design allowed for greater adjustments (my old fridge used a bracket system allowing two inch incremental shelf adjustment which maximized efficient use of space depending on circumstances).

Just purchased a new home two months ago and we have this appliance in our home. Love the look. I love that the water maker is a little lower so the kids can reach it to fill up their cups and aren't reaching on their tippy toes. Only issue I had was to turn the temp of the fridge up to 40 degrees because some of the items in the fridge were getting frozen. Other than that, it works great and very easy to figure out the panel. Love it!

Great Fridge! Very happy with it overall. The outside of it looks great when clean but keeping it finger print clean is impossible. I think I would have gone with a different outside finish had I known. We don't have kids but it still gets dirty quickly.

For a freebie, this has worked stupendously. This was a free upgrade for our new home. I've read complaints about the ice maker but it's like any other appliance, take care of it and it will treat you family well. We have owned this unit for a few months and are very happy with most of the refrigerator, including exterior, controls and shelving. The only bad comments are regarding the icemaker, which is entirely inadequate in terms of speed of making ice and ice capacity. We have to buy ice from the store and keep in the refrigerator, which takes up space we thought we could save with the in-door icemaker that this unit has. One other comment: there is no drain bin under the water dispenser and I have to be very careful not to spill water when filling my glass. Most units, I believe have a grated bin to catch overspill.

Lighting in freezer could be brighter. Storage drawers are a nice size but lowest crisper drawer is hard to reach. Wished there were more shelving options. Nice storage space inside of door. Water and ice work well.

I like the side-by-side model as items are easy to access in both the freezer and fridge. This model offers great energy efficiency and operates quality. Only negative is the ice/water through the door. Ice gets caught in the dispensing mechanisms and falls out as it melts. Also, the overflow cup at the bottom of the mechanism is flat, so any drips or spillage ends up on the floor. I would love to see this redesigned so I could get a replacement part. Other than that small thing, I am EXREMELY happy with this refrigerator.

If you can find this fridge for around $1000 as I did, I think it's a very good value. As far as cooling, it does what it is supposed to do, does it well and looks pretty good doing it. The LED lighting inside is nice, although there are not a lot of lights so some areas of the compartments tend to be dark if you have a lot of stuff in it. The dispenser touch controls are easy to use, look nice and work well. I do wish there was more adjust-ability with the shelves, but it works. The plastic bins/door shelves do seem quite fragile, but as long as you're careful they should be alright.I had an issue with the ice maker and had to have it replaced after about 2 weeks. Apparently the optical sensor went bad so it thought the bin was full at all times, even if it was empty. It has worked well since then. Certainly not the fastest, and it is quite noisy when dropping the ice and refilling the tray, but it gets the job done. When I first got it, there was an inside leak coming from the filter area. I disassembled that section and it turns out one of the water lines was not seated in the hidden compression fitting completely. Mentioning the filter, it is extremely easy to remove and replace. The carbon filter is also a nice feature so one is not required to have boxes of baking soda. There is a visible reservoir in the back of the fridge, so on a good note it does hold cold water for dispensing. When dispensing ice, it can get a little out of control at times so keep your cup close to the dispenser and leave it there for a couple seconds after releasing the lever. I saw someone mention there is no area to catch water overflow. This is correct as there is a little slide-out tray with a lip around the edge that does catch water. It doesn't drip down and catch in a container, but it does not run all over.My one issue now is it has a loud and distracting, almost knocking noise when turning on , so I think I'll need to get that looked at. Otherwise it is working well. The warranty fix for the ice maker was quick and painless, so hopefully this is the same.Overall this is a relatively inexpensive but nice fridge that I would recommend to those on a budget. I'm not sure I'd want it as a main fridge in a nice kitchen, but how we have it as our bar fridge it is great.

I had serviceman out to repair the water dispenser and ice maker. Door was replaced as the serviceman said some of the water lines were put too close to the freezer side of the door and freezing. The water dispenser worked fine after but still no luck with the ice maker. I just moved, got married then went on a honeymoon(busy last few months!) and haven't had to the time to take off work to meet a repairman. The Refrigerator is great otherwise. Nice storage room and much more energy efficient that it's predecessor.

I bought this product through Best Buy and received a great deal and great customer service. I really like the glass shelves in the freezer and the over all layout of the refrigerator side. Compared to other refrigerators we have own it runs very quietly. Plus it fits in our space that is allotted for the fridge in our town house.The things I don't like about it is only have one dispenser for the ice and water. I detest having to constantly change from ice to water, I am sure it is a money saver idea, but having to constantly change from one to the other is a pain. I would pay the extra to have two dispensers.Also why does the dispensers stop working when you open the fridge?? I mean what purpose does it serve? The container that holds the ice is small...but I new that going in. The plus side is that the ice maker is in the door, I LOVE THAT FEATURE.Overall for the price I paid and for the space we have to place the fridge I think we made a very good choice.

The only problem we have had with the refrigerator is that there is no place in the info to tell you with what you can clean the refrigerator. I mean, such as smudges from food or other kinds of materials that might leave something on the refrigerator surface Only says don't use abrasives. Didn't say about the type of cloth to use; but found out too late that you're not to use even paper towels. May be with the next instruction book , there should be the type of cleanser that can be used. Also said not to use window cleaners with contents, such as ammonia. Maybe the outside surface of the refrigerator needs to be more resilient as far as being cleaned.

Although this product is beautiful and roomy, there are design flaws. Number 1: It is extremely hard to move with only 3 wheels and I cannot clean out pet hair that gets underneath without taking off a skirt piece in the front. Number 2: From the start I had to have a repairman come to fix the icemaker switch. Number 3: The touchscreen makes me hit it twice to get ice or water.

Purchased our new Whirlpool refrigerator, and couldn't be any happier! I read a lot of reviews on the one I purchased. and I would have to say, the people that complained about the ice-maker not keeping up is not true. I have a family of three, one being a teenager, and we have never run out of ice or even close, We have purchased a lot of appliances over the years, and I have always had the best luck with Whirpool. We actually just replaced our Gas Range & OTR Microwave last Wednesday, and went straight for the whirlpool line, and very happy with them so far as well. I would highly recommend their appliances to anyone.

Top shelve of refrigerator does not fit 2 liter soda bottles. I have to put them in a door shelf so i do not compromise the other shelves of the fridge. I personally think the drawer in the middle of the fridge is not needed. The two at the bottom are enough. Takes away storage space. Ice maker is noisy and does not make as much ice as my 12 year old GE side by side did. We have to buy ice and keep a bag in the freezer.

The fridge itself has worked fine thus far. We did have an issue about a month after install with the ice maker. It stopped producing ice. Contacted Whirlpool and service was scheduled (still under warranty). Technician arrived on time, was professional and made a quick repair, which required zip tying and piece back in (design flaw). Since then ice has worked fine.

we finally had to replace our 29 year old refrigerator. since we hadn't looked at new fridges lately, we didn't know what to expect. stumbled upon this whirlpool at best buy and since it was a return (previous buyer didn't measure space correctly), their loss was our gain. well lighted interior, spacious freezer, great in-door ice maker / water dispenser. the water filter is a little pricey, but with as much water and ice as we use, the filter is easy to replace. i would have preferred french doors, but it was out of our budget. all in all, i recommend it.

I have had trouble with other brands of side-by-side refrig/freezers where they do not keep frozen items frozen and getting frost and ice in my frost-free freezer! I spent a lot of time looking for a replacement and so far I am thrilled with this Whirlpool's performance. The Ice in the Door is innovative and saves a lot of room in the freezer. I have had the unit for 3 months and it works great. Some minor noises occasionally but overall I'm pleased with my purchase. Hope it continues this way!

We bought all Whirlpool appliances when we remodeled our kitchen. Unfortunately, you cannot test products at the store. The refrigerator looked nice and matched everything else we bought. But if I could return it I would. The ice/water dispenser is terrible. The ice goes everywhere and is very, very loud when it makes ice. I would think whirlpool engineers would be better at designing their products. The Kenmore refrigerator we replaced was quieter and had a much better ice/water dispenser. I suggest you examine the Ice/water dispenser before purchasing this model. In our household it is the most used item. I will not make this mistake again.

I am happy all around with the new fridge.The wife wishes she could set the refrigerator temp to 32 or 31 def F,but it will only set down to 33.The freezer will set to -5 which is good for her.It does make an occasional ticking sound which i guess is normal.

It works great, my biggest issues is having only one sliding bin in freezer, which makes it hard to find things on the shelves. My old one was all bins. I miss that. It takes a few times to learn how to get ice and water in a smaller glass without a mess. You must keep glass all the way up to hole for ice, then tilt it out to the front for water. But it is beautiful, quiet and all the other refrig's had the same shelf system in freezer. It does a great job keeping everything cold. And I love the sleek look.
