Bought this fridge 2 years ago to replace my GE fridge. Wish I still had it. On the plus this Fridge looks nice. Negatives fruit and veggie bins stick and get harder and harder to slide in and out with more weight. The doors don't open fully they need to open a couple inches more and stay there and not bounce back. Make putting pizza in a box a challenge to put in this fridge. And lastly. This fridge has cost me thousands in damaged floors. Freezer defrosts way to much and constantly plugs its drain tube resulting in water leaking out Past the door seal all over the floor. Buyer beware

Had practically the same Whirlpool refrigerator for 17 years. It was fine.
Got replacement a month ago. It hums forever. The repairman said that it showed 40-50 something, and was perfectly acceptable.. I cancelled the warranty. Won't live with it for 17 yrs. The front door is shiny! the old was like the sides of the new one. Never saw a fingerprint. A lot more plastic construction.

I bought this about a month ago and I expected more. Maybe the experience I've had was marred by the poor assembly or its delivery. It's missing screws and the hinges on the doors have too much play. The button for the water/ice dispenser is sunken and I am already worried about how long it will last.

We are disappointed with this refrigerator for the following reasons and would not have bought it had we known: (a) the water dispenser lever is integrally designed with the cover that seals the opening where ice from the storage container is dispensed - because of this, the water dispenser does not shut off until the cover that seals the ice dispenser opening is fully closed; thus, causing a delay of at least a second before the water stops flowing from the dispenser. While this may not sound like a long time, failure to keep your glass in position until the water dispenser stops results in an annoying spill of water every time; (b) the water dispenser nozzle is not adjustable and is pointed outward too far making it impossible to dispense water into a narrower drinking glass using one hand; (c) the stored ice in the ice storage container on the door does not stay crisply frozen - instead, it appears the storage container is exposed to warm air which causes the cubes to partially melt and then refreeze, i.e., the surface of the cubes in the storage container exhibit a round, melted-refreezing appearance and they have a tendency to stick together in large masses (especially at the bottom of the container) requiring us to empty the entire storage container; (d) the water/ice dispenser does not operate if the refrigerator door is opened; and (e) the water filter is replaced every 6 months, rather than annually.

This refrigerator was delivered and installed on 11/17/17. I like a lot of the features, especially the outer door ice and water dispenser. I am still getting used to this model because I had a larger french door with the bottom freezer. It has only been 10 days-so far so good.

We have this fridge for about a month now plenty of room inside with the ice maker in the door. However the opening shud be a little wider to accommodate a tall cup. Ice dispenser drops ice on floor if you don't have cup completely upright. Also water dispenser drips a bit after turning off leaving quite a puddle in tray. We've adjusted. Just took some time.

Drawers for meats and vegetables are really cheap and cannot be closed unless pressed in the center of the drawer top and unworthy of an otherwise good appliance.

This was the only side by side that come in this width to fit the space I had. The doors are stainless and still magnetic. Sometimes an ice cube gets stuck in the despenser flap and then the whole ice cube reservoir starts to melt and refreeze and then I have to fight with it to remove the tray to dump it out.

it's noisier than my 22 year old whirlpool refridgerator that it was replacing. The ice maker is in the door so everytime the freezer is opened, the ice melts a little then refreezes making an ice block mess that gets freezer burned. Shelving is not as useful as I had hoped. I had tur purchase an additional shelf to make room for extras in the fridge such as a casserole or 9x13 pan

My search for a shorter side by side turned up the Whirlpool site. Had a french door with freezer on the bottom and hated it. This is so convenient with open shelves and LED lighting so I can see everything. The water/Ice feature through the door is also very nice.

Bought this refrig recently in September and freezer door sticks out and does not align with the refrig door. The freezer door seal does not appear to close as tight. Ice cubes from ice maker which is located on inside of freezer door, ice cubes clump and stick together. Had repair person look at door misalignment and basically implied not much can be done. Disappointed in poor craftsmanship.

When I was growing up we had a refrigerator that had water and ice in the door. That was thirty years ago. Now I had the opportunity to buy a new refrigerator where cost wasn't an issue and I love the ice and water in the door feature. And it has a reverse osmosis filter in it which I guess is a newer thing in refrigerators. I have bad water so that's definitely a plus. Also it's stainless steel and you can still place magnets to it. So that's cool. It seems like whirlpool has definitely been listening to the wants and needs of their customers and continues to innovate to that end.

I'm very happy with my new refrigerator. The LED lights are really bright and I'm able to see everything easily. The ice cubes are a little smaller than a normal ice cube, but I like that. The only thing that I've found that I don't like is the water despensor does not go out enough and I'm left with water going down the side of the fridge or the ice going everywhere. I wish there was a little ledge for a cup to be centered correctly under the water/ice despensor. But other than that, I'm enjoying it.

This Refrigerator does OK. Keeps things cool on the right side (as you face it) and frozen on the left. The doors look like they are heavily constructed. They do show every finger print, smudge and water drip. The water dispenser only gives you 50 degree water IF the compressor is running, other times it closer to sixty, so if you like cold water, add ice. No adjustment on that, it is what it is. Drip tray under water dispenser is very small, if you use the water dispenser a lot you will be cleaning this out about every other day. You almost always get extra water drops after removing your water glass. NOT ENERGY STAR Rated. All the advertisements on the web show that it is, IT IS NOT (Confirmed with Whirlpool) ! if your local power company offers a rebate, this refrigerator will not get you one ( We tried and got shot down ). If you like your Milk cold, you will need to store it on the top shelve, not the door, by the time you get the door shelves cold enough for Milk your freezing stuff in the back of the refrigerator. Ice system is very loud during operations. So will this do the job yes, will it cost you more to run, yes. Will it keep your stuff cold, depends on where you put it in the refrigerator. Our previous refrigerator died, so this purchase was based on availability. Wished we had more time to research. If you want something better engineered, and I believe those refrigerators are out there, do your homework and be prepared to spend some more money. I do not believe this was worth what was paid but we will have to live with it until it dies.

NOT ENERGY STAR RATED ! Old refrigerator (11 years old) died and had to hurry up and find another. This one had ice/water on the door which we wanted in a new refrigerator, Stainless steel doors have that heavy look (beware they do show the finger prints). It's a tad louder than our last refrigerator. DOES NOT HAVE HINGE COVERS on top of unit, If your tall you will be faced with metal door hinges that make the top of the this refrigerator look unfinished. My next question is why in this day in age you produce NON-Energy Star appliances is beyond me. The Refrigerator does what it's suppose to do, cold on the right, frozen on the left. If you like your gallon jugs of milk or juice cold, use the top shelve and not the door. By the time you adjust the refrigerator to get the door stuff cold, your freezing stuff at the back of the refrigerator. We move the door shelf as far up as possible and it didn't make a difference. Our milk now has to sit on the top shelf. If you like cold water, you will need ice in your glass with this refrigerator. The guide states that the water is kept at 50 f degree's, it only seems to get close to being that cold if the compressor is running, Even if you run two glasses of water through this it's 60 degree's or higher when the compressor is off. My wife went out to shop for this, I reviewed it on the retailers web site that listed it as Energy Star and told her to go ahead and purchase it. When I applied for our local Electrical company's rebate ($50.00) it was denied. This is when I found out it's NOT ENERGY STAR RATED ! So will it keep stuff cold and frozen, yes so far after two weeks it has. Does it look finished, no. Will it cost you more to run, yes and if you see this advertised as ENERGY STAR RATED, it ISN'T (Yes I checked directly with Whirlpool). Now I'm kinda of stuck until it dies. For the money I spent, I do not feel I got my money's worth and I can't afford to replace it.

I am not satisfied with the water dispenser feature as the water is not chilled and one of the racks in the freezer compartment is too short on the sides and falls out on occasion. Also, the stainless steel exterior is hard to clean. I wanted the smudge proof exterior and was told that Whirlpool refrigerators in the size I needed, does not come in a smudge proof finish.

Water on door not coming out cold. Doors are not flush. One is higher than the other. The drawers are made of the cheapest flimsiest plastic, one of which is cracked already. They Dow NOT slide out easily. This is our second one delivered within a week. The first one had to be sent back because the freezer door caught on the center panel between the fridg side and the freezer. All in all there appears to be no quality to the refrigerator. Oh the ice cubes also are sticking together in the drawer. You also can not easily fill a bottle of water from the door. Very very unsatisfied with this appliance. Also seems to run a lot

Purchased the refrigerator at on September 9th, 2016. The refrigerator was delivered 2 weeks later and both the water filter sensor was broken and the freezer door were installed incorrectly. The freezer started collection frost within 2 weeks. They agreed to exchange the refrigerator and the new one arrived October 29th, 2016. The same issue with the water filter sensor, keeps flashing red constantly. I requested a service call and was set up on November 10th from 10-1. The Service company made an error with the scheduling so I am still in the same situation. I lost a whole day from work (without pay). They have scheduled to come back next Friday, 11/18 after 3:30pm. Hopefully they will know how to fix it.

Bought this fridge to replace a 15 year old maytag. I am over the top thrilled with this fridge. It's hard to purchase a refrigerator that's not on display in the store, but research online & compared the options, prices & needed it to fit in a tight spot. I love the ice cubes, crushed ice and filtered water. It was cooled after 2 hours and there is so much room in the fridge! After the ice maker filled, I thought it stopped running because you cannot even hear the refrigerator! Never imagined it would be so quiet. I highly recommend this fridge!

I have a small kitchen, so I am limited in refrigerator choices. The most important feature to me is water and ice dispenser in the door so that limits the choice even more. I replaced a 10 year old, working, side by side refrigerator because I wanted my appliances coordinated. I am sorry that I gave my old appliance away. For the first couple of weeks, the appliance worked as it was supposed to and filtered the bad taste of Des Moines water, so it was drinkable. Then the filter quit working and the horrible service began. Whirlpool failed to set up a repair appointment as promised, so when the day of service came, I had to make several calls to reschedule service. This gave us an extra delay. When the repairman came, he had to order parts, so a second call was scheduled for the following week. Prior to that day, the service company called to cancel because the part had not arrived and they expected it to be 10 more days before the part was available. After angry phone calls to Whirlpool, I was able to get the part delivered in 2 days. (Angry customer gets 2 days. Normal customer gets 10 days.). The bottom lime is we were without the use of the distilled water function for over 2 weeks and had to purchase filtered water at the grocery store. It is working now, but honesty, I don't have long term confidence.
