We've purchased several major Whirlpool appliances (washer, dryer, dishwasher) in the past, but are disappointed with this one.
We bought this fridge from Lowe's about a month ago to replace a same-sized GE we had for 24 years.
Reasons why dissatisfied:
1. Lowe's spec sheet states it has snack/deli drawer … it does not!
2. Bottom freezer rack does not snap into place.
3. Top shelf/back section of fridge is colder, and some items are freezing at "Ideal" setting.
4. Most significantly, it's very noisy!! The sound seems to emanate from the freezer fan. At night, it's like an alarm clock that you can't turn off! Not sure if it's defective or common to this model. I'm planning to ask for repair or exchange at store for different brand.

This was a new refrigerator when I bought my house 2 years ago. It works well, and I haven't had any problems. Minor complaint: the water filter at the base is a bit hard to replace.

Bought this refrigerator as part of our kitchen reno. It's the first side by side I have owned. While I love it as a whole, it has plenty of space in the refrigerator compartment, but could use a bit more in the freezer area.

I spent a lot of time reviewing different brands and features before settling on this brand and model. After several weeks of use, I think I should have kept looking for a better frig.1. Was delivered with dent and scratched paint on the side (we are still working out the settlement of this issue). Was shipped to home not in a box, so damage was almost unavoidable.2. This frig is nosier than my previous frig, not just the ice maker.3. The door was not available in a textured finish like my previous fridge; so expecting many finger prints and scratches to become highly visible. Magnets do not work on the door.4. The ice/water dispenser is designed too small. My Yeti cup does not fit under the spout. Can't put a bowl under to capture cubes. Even with a glass, many cubes/pieces of ice miss the glass and end up on the floor where they melt and leave a spot.5. Ice cubes are quite small.6. Ice maker shut-off when full not operating correctly-cubes being pushed out the manual door so they fall on the floor when you open the freezer door.7. Why is the "Whirlpool" label so large; doesn't have to be that big so it is so noticeable. It's not in a store.8. The LED lights inside are nice and bright. But why or why does it take so long for them to come on. Open door, wait, then lights come up gradually. LEDs best feature is their instant on capability. Why do I have wait every time I open the frig or freezer door? Al least make this a user setting.9. The blue lights for water/ice/crushed ice, etc. are not the buttons. It is not clear where the buttons/switches really are. They are below and slightly offset from the button. Poor user interface design.10. Had to set the temp control on click to colder from normal to have firm ice cream.11. Several places were the insulating foam came through the seams on the finish metal.

I bought this about a month ago. It keeps the food cold and seems to keep it fresher longer than my last frig. I Wish the meat drawer was a bit deeper - there's not a lot of room in it . I hate that you can't remove the ice maker bin to clean it. I also think the shelving is a bit poorly made compared to my older Roper refrigerator and the motor is quite noisy when it's running. One more thing...I like the smooth front finish. It's very easy to clean.

I am not a fan of side by side refrig., but this one came with the house, new. the ice maker is the worst excuse for what it is designed to do. When the ice comes out, it comes out, all over the floor no matter how you try to cup your hands around the shoot. This feature needs a major overhaul and distributed to all owners. In the very near future I will buying a different refrig.

Bought this model as a replacement for our existing refrigerator for two reasons. One, the ice dispenser did not work on the old model and Two, we wanted stainless steel finish to match our Whirlpool range and dishwasher. So far, no issues, but need to learn how to dispense ice without cubes missing the glass. That's a minor issue, but occasionally a cube jumps out onto the floor. Otherwise, we are quite happy with this new appliance.

Everything works great, cools just like it's supposed too. the LED lighting is a plus. compressor runs quietly. The only complaint I have is when it goes thru a defrost cycle it pops and creaks REALLY LOUD.

Because of limited space I could not get a refrigerator wider than 36 inches. My choices were quite limited. Very disappointed with choices available with all brands overall. Freezer seems so small with very little shelving. Door shelving not very deep. Water dispenser not very user friendly. My 23 yr. old Kenmore was just starting to have problems but it was the same size as this one but better made.

I just moved in to a new build less than a month ago and this refrigerator was included with the house. The fridge is keeping my food cold and freezer side has kept my food frozen. It takes a couple of tries to get use to the water dispenser. Many people are not used to the water dispenser hose being so far out. Must use wiser glass or one had to hold the glass and the other to push the lever in, otherwise water will spill!

Had the refrigerator for two weeks. The compressor is quiet. Like the larger freezer compartment. Wish the refrigerator side had an additional shelf for the vacant shelf opening. Miss the multi-adjustable brackets on my old refrigerator. The ice/water dispenser needs to be taller to fill larger glasses.

We loved our 1st whirlpool and bought this one a month ago. The water dispenser spout sticks further out so using small glasses means you get wet. Thankfully we are out of the kid cup phase. The button panel for the water and ice are already scratched up much like a screen cover bubble on a phone- very disappointing. I miss the levers they used to have.

This is my second Whirlpool refrigerator and it has stopped functioning after less than a year. The first one died before it was 3 years old. I am very unhappy with their products and with their service, which takes days if not weeks to occur, leaving us without a functioning refrigerator for too long.

We purchased this whirlpool refrigerator and had this delivered on October 2, 2015. In December I noticed some yellow discoloration on all of the inside plastic sides of the refrigerator. I contacted whirlpool and had an authorized service dealer come out in beginning of January. I followed up with the dealer and Whirlpool since did not hear back. The dealer said they turned in their report and we even had a conversation about the discoloration and I quote what he said " I am not sure why they change the product / materials they use" meaning the plastic and he acknowledged that there was a yellow coloring. Still as of January 30th I had not heard back from whirlpool so I called them, they claimed they had not received the report from the service dealer so I made them call them while I waited on hold. The rep proceeded to tell me that the service dealer was telling her it was color reflecting from the led light. This is not what they said to us when they were at our house, or when I followed up later on the phone. They were now changing their story and lying. Not very reputable. These companies never want to cover anything unless you buy extended expensive warranties and that is all they try to do is sell you these. Really if they made their products good in the first place like they did years ago you would not need to buy these warranties. Regardless I am sick and tired of companies not backing their products and for the excuses that are constantly made. I would like action on this and a solution or a replacement product offered. Whirlpool Does not stand by their product. Do NOT BUY.

One month in and we like this refrigerator so far. It is noisier than I like though with the motor running a lot. It came without some shelves that it really needed and we had to buy those separately to get the best use of the space.

I chose a Whirlpool because my two previous refrigerators were Whirlpool and we were very satisfied with them. I wish I could say the same about this one. Even though this one is allegedly an Energy Star, it runs almost all the time; even when the house is cool and in the middle of the night when not in use. Sometimes while in a certain running mode, it produces a very irritating hum/buzz that makes it difficult to ignore, especially if reading or eating in the kitchen. I am looking for a noise cancelling device to offset this noise.

For what you pay for this refrigerator you would think it would make less noise when it is making and dumping the ice.Also, when we had a power outage the box that holds the ice is not leak proof and water leaked onto my hard wood floors and caused a problem with them.

Beautiful looking fridge, very roomy and functional interior. Did not like that the doors swing out past the fridge box, for tight fitting cabinetry this poses a problem. I am also not happy with having just one dispenser for both ice and water. You need to be constantly pressing a button to switch between ice and water for a single glass of water.

This unit came as an option when building my new home. Now experienced with it, found it has 2 bottom drawers that stick/cumbersome to open or close. In addition, there is a condensation issue on the top freezer door edge that faces the refrigerator that I've been told will be resolved by replacing the compressor heat shield that will push heat in the door cavities and center bar. Waiting for that change to occur.
