I bought this refrifgerator in the fall of 2017 and by the summer of 2018 I had to have the cooling element replaced twice and now in 2019 a few days before Thanksgiving i'm having the same problem. If I did'nt have the extended warranty I would be in big trouble. Say away from this refrigerator!!!

I bought this fridge in November of 2014 with all the matching appliances to go with it. Since then, it has been replaced 3 times due to the same issue. Whenever you pay as much as this fridge costs, it should last longer than a year or two. The warranty does not justify the price of this fridge. A year and a half later after the last replacement and the ice maker being fixed, it has stopped working again today. What happened to Whirlpool making quality products like they did in the past? At this point I am thinking about replacing my

great frig the only thing I believe they could have made easier is the water and ice dispenser the dispenser paddle tips in towards the top .

I really like this fridge and it can hold a ton of food. If you are debating between this and the counter depth, though, I'd go with the counter depth. It is just pretty bulky.

I've had this refrigerator for about a month and so far so good. I am enjoying having the ice on the inside of the door. It is so much more convenient. My last Whirlpool refrigerator lasted about 10 years, so I hope to get at least that from this one.

I have had this refrigerator for just under 5 years now. glad i bought the 5 year extended warranty. at 2 years the fridge broke. 6 weeks later it was finally repaired. took 4 tries for someone to figure out the correct failed part. Now it shows again the exact same failure - refrigerator does not cool. i have the old Maytag one at my parents basement and it is from the early 1990's and still yet to have a single service. therefore even a 3 star is to much and gets it only from the looks. and the pull out drawer in the bottom of the fridge also broke, which i have to purchase or somehow glue/screw it together as is not covered by warranty.

I like this refrigerator but the left door you have to push to make sure the door closes. A couple of times the door was left open just slightly, and I wish there was a alarm to let you know the door is ajar. Other than that it's great

I purchased an Ice White Gold Series for my lake house three years ago and loved it so much that I bought another one for my home. It is almost the same however they no longer provided a few items that were on the picture. The device to get ice and water is different and you have to be very careful or ice or water goes all over. You actually have to use a very wide glass.
As for the rest of the refrigerator I love it. For a 27 cubic foot I can actually get more in it because of the way it is configured. I have always had over 30 cubic foot refrigerators and was afraid this would not work, but it is GREAT. Having the bottom freezer is also quite nice. This machine is not the same number as the one I got 3 years ago, but it is working for us.

I haven't even had it a month and have had 3 servicemen at my home & 4 phone calls to Whirlpool which took forever to answer or put on hold for a long time.
The issues have still not been fixed!
I absolutely HATE the ice dispenser. It randomly drops ice cubes on the floor and always has water puddles in the tray & water marks down the front of the refrigerator!!
You also can't get your cup out from under the ice dispenser without it shooting extra cubes which land in the floor.
Not sure what is going to become of this but a very bad experience for such an expensive refrigerator.

This refrigerator is our second of this model. The first had a defect that caused the ice maker to quit first, then the freezer to go out. Whirlpool replaced our frig and so far so good with the second! I am very pleased that Whirlpool stood behind their product as we purchased this frig with the intent to have it work for many years based on how much we paid. Love the features of this frig. A shelf that tucks in so tall items fit, one full drawer and two smaller half drawers, dividers in the frig and the pull out drawer for the freezer with two separate drawers........makes it very convenient and easy to find what you need. Plus a pizza pocket that holds your pizzas upright and out of the way. Well designed!

I am disappointed in the suggested care for the exterior of the refrigerator. I have a 14+ year old Whirlpool that I am giving to my granddaughter because it is still in good shape. On page 29 of the manual you read that you cannot use paper towels on the surface of the refrigerator because it is not covered "under the warranty". "Paper towels scratch and may dull the clear coat of the painted door. To avoid possible damage use only clean clothes (REALLY? - CLOTHES) to polish and wipe the door." Plastic covered the entire door, however the plastic was put on before the trim was installed so you cannot completely remove the plastic. It is unsightly and I am not happy with the appearance. I cannot remove the trim so the plastic will always be there. That's really poor quality control. There was a LOT of sticky glue on the exterior of the door, because you had labels taped to the front of the door, very difficult to remove with "clothes". I have used Whirlpool products for years, relied on your quality, but this is a GREAT DISAPPOINTMENT - AND A VERY EXPENSIVE PRODUCT!

I love the look of this unit, and the features are very convenient. My concerns are mainly regarding the noise of the compressor and ice maker motors when they cycle on. The ice in the door storage bucket are melting somewhat, which is concerning since its winter.

Purchased refrigerator two weeks ago. Ice maker made ice but at a very slow rate. Only filled two glasses in 8 hours. Service man was called twice. First time the ice maker was replaced - faulty temperature gage. Second time the doors were removed and replaced - 1/4 - 1/2" gap between door and ice maker. I think the doors were put on wrong at factory. It works now - but I should not have to call repair man after one week of use.

We just closed on our manufactured home, which also included the purchase of all appliances. Within a week of closing, the led lights inside the fridge and freezer stopped working. The unit still works, but we can't see inside very well. Because of the led lights, a circuit board needs to be replaced. We put in a service call, thinking we were still under our 12 month warranty. Instead, we were charged nearly $100 just to be told the circuit board needs to be replaced, and that the warranty is already expired. We don't have individual proof of purchases, because they were purchased as part of the house. Whirlpool only backs the warranty to the date our builders bought the appliance, and not us. It's still going to be another $100+ to replace the circuit board, for a fridge that only worked correctly for a week.We still love the spaciousness of the freezer and fridge. Just disappointed in the difficulty involved to fix light bulbs...

We purchased this refrigerator a couple of weeks ago, to replace a malfunctioning Electrolux. The Whirlpool is beautiful and very thoughtfully designed. It organizes easily and well, and our food is kept at the appropriate temperature and is easy to access. I will be more excited when it demonstrates its reliability, but so far so good. We had read complaints about needing close the door intentionally. That is true, but we have adjusted without difficulty. We also learned--after installation--that hooking the ice maker up to a reverse osmosis filter system might not provide enough pressure to make ice, but we have had no such issue even though we have it connected to a reverse osmosis system. My one complaint at this point is that unlike our Electrolux, both freezer drawers do not come out at the same time.
