We purchased this is March 2017 we moved into a new home and had this fridge at our prior home and it worked great. This one after only 2 years has a cold freezer but it ices up and the fridge is barley cool. I thought when I purchased a Whirlpool that I'd have a quality product. Not feeling that way anymore......

Terrible fridge, broke 3 time, died after 5 years

Bought fridge 10/2014 from Costco, after 3 weeks, the condenser died and fridge stopped cooling. Everything spoiled inside. Called the company and they sent a tech to replace the condenser. 2 week later, the fridge started leaking water, another tech came out and replaced the cracked water tray. 1 year later, the starter died, again, everything spoiled and we threw all the food away. The fringe completed died today, 5/28/2019, called a repair person from yelp and he said the compressor is fried and would cost around $1000 to replace and fix it. Called Whirlpool customer service, no help there. Called Costco and looks like Costco will attempt to get get Whirlpool to help us. Most likely will need a new fridge. Terrible product from a irresponsible company. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT OR ANY PRODUCT FROM THIS COMPANY.

After moving into my brand new home in November 2018 today May 14 2019 ice maker died. Then get told by whirlpool if it was installed incorrectly I would have to pay to get fixed. How if it my fault when the builder had it installed before we bought the home? Way to go whirlpool.

I'm just shy of 2 years owning this refrigerator and the ice maker has died. It leaks water from the ice maker into the tray causing a huge clump of frozen cubes/water. Very disappointed. There should be no reason for the ice maker to break in less than 2 years. I'd say something needs to be fixed before any more are sold. After seeing some of these reviews, I'm not the only person with this complaint. When you spend this kind of money on a refrigerator, you wouldn't think that you'd have to be replacing the ice maker already.

Got this fridge off the good reviews. My experience is that in less than 2 years my ice maker has died. Now I am having to search around to find a replacement part ASAP. My last fridge lasted 10 years.

The unit works fine but we have to unclog the drain on the bottom of the freezer every 1-2 years. That is when I get so frustrated trying to make the door height even. There is only one adjustment to make this happen and it is impossible to align the doors AND stabilize the fridge. You have to decide between level doors or a rocking fridge. We always choose a stable fridge but that means the doors can never be aligned and that drives me nuts. I wish Whirlpool had included the allen-screw adjustment under the doors with this model. That would make this fridge so much better in my opinion.

We baught this a couple weeks ago and so far are very happy with it. The cooling system is extremely efficient as I only have it set half way up with a packed fridge and it keeps everything nicely cooled. It is quiet compared to my last fridge a frigidaire 3 door and the stainless finish matches the rest of my stainless appliances well.

I am happy with the product and haven't had any issues really. Only thing I'm not crazy about is the ice maker. Either there is no filter or I can't find it. Their manual says there is one but I can't find it for the life of me. I think there are better options for the price. Overall I love it but the ice maker is frustrating

This is the first brand new refrigerator I have ever owned and am so disappointed!! It is so loud when the compressor kicks in to cool! I can hear it across my house and sometimes can't hear the TV when it kicks on. If anyone ever tried to sleep in my living room I am sure this noise would wake them up. Not worth the money, buy a different brand!

So far it's keeping things cold. I've only had it for a few weeks so time will tell.
It's quiet too. Too late for me, but Whirlpool should consider putting rollers on the crisper drawers but more importantly changing how you can adjust the vents. The little plastic tab that sticks out to adjust the vent/airflow has to be held up as you close the drawer or else be snapped off. I have to go this every time. Children won't watch out for that when in and out of drawers.

After getting used to all the bizarre loud noises, am annoyed to find after almost four years the ice maker has predictably gone belly up, like my other whirlpool gold. The door gasket is also torn for some reason. As expensive as this one was, I thought it might be better quality. Although it runs pretty efficiently, I do have to warn everyone to double check the doors are closed, especially the freezer. It has good qualities and a few bad but I think these appliances should last much longer than they do.

Bought this unit in April, a great unit I have other Whirlpool appliances and would have anything else. the only thing I don't like it doesn't have a water filter built in . I was a Kenmore user for years and made the switch because of the good name and price. would recommended his unit to anyone.

I bought this frig 1 month ago as a quick purchase. I did not shop around because my old frig died on a 90 degree day. Hard to reach the ice in the freezer as the tray sits at the back of the top shelf. Have to bend way over to get ice. The doors do not shut on their own --I have to constantly make sure to push them shut after opening. When I close one door, the other pops open. It usually closes tight, but not always.

I've owned this refrigerator for two months and love it so far. The only improvement I would suggest is for the doors to close without having to consciously push them closed. I'm not a door slammer, and sometimes my gentle push on the door isn't enough to close it all the way. I've accidentally left the door partially open a few times. I guess I just need to use a little more muscle.

I have had mine for about a month. The fridge cools really great. The freezer stays at a good temp as well. I love my fridge!!
FYI, unlike most things, the lower number is hotter and the higher number is colder. I accidentally made this mistake. I thought one would be coldest. Oops!

I bought this for my new house and I love it! It is so functional with the two doors and the huge storage bin at the bottom of the fridge for large platters or other items. The drawer freezer is something I really love also, nothing gets freezer burnt and I can easily find everything.

The only reason I gave it a four was due to the door closure. If the left door is not closed Hard before the right door it could be left open if you weren't careful to make sure it is closed completely.

When I bought this I told them I did not want the ice cube maker set up but I'm noticing it makes the noise as if it is making ice. I'm not sure if that is normal even if you are not using the ice cube maker feature. Otherwise I am happy with this product.

I bought this approximately 6 months ago, I am very happy with the features of this Whirlpool French door refrigerator. The ice maker in the freezer works great, I have has guests over that used the ice constantly and the ice maker kept up with what was being used. The space inside and on the doors is convenient for any size container you may have. The only negative, (and the reason for not giving a 5 star review) is the space at the back of the shelves is wider than what I would expect, but I understand the need as items resting on the back wall of a refrigerator tend to freeze, so the gap prevents some small items from being pushed back too far or they will fall through the gap.

I bought this fridge a few months ago and I absolutely adore it! Having the freezer on bottom is wonderful for someone with back problems (no need to bend to get something out of the fridge multiple times a day. Plus it stores so much. It's well worth the purchase.

It's just me and my daughter so this fridge is more than enough for us two. My daughter is four and is able to open the doors herself and get snacks out of the drawer in the bottom of the fridge. I have no complaints. Door storage is adequate and freezer space fits a lot of items.
