Microwave failed after 5 uses and two weeks. Upon calling Whirlpool, the sent out local company to repair. Supposed to be here between 8-12. Did mot come until I called them. Supposedly tech had called me and the new window was 11-3. Said the original was just an estimation. then when he came, spent less than three inutes and said they had to order parts and they would call to set up a new appointment. Never called. I called after three days and they said they would be out in about a week. I still don;t have a working microwave after spending 500.00

Got this recently to replace a white 1.9 cf for a stainless model. Same dimensions as my 2015 model but this one doesn™™t have the wire rack and seems smaller inside. Light doesn™™t do much when on looking through the black glass. The tone volume for the keypad and ready tones are very low even when set to high. I do like that the keypad is glass and not plastic. I do wish that the display was white instead of blue to match my other appliances display but I™™m happy. Overall a great microwave and works and looks great in my kitchen.

Love the look of this microwave. I have found that the controls are not user intuitive, but required me to pull the PDF of the owners manual online to read it to see how to work the features. My previous Whirlpool microwave (that was 20 years old, and still working but the handle had a crack, so time to replace) was super easy to operate. The only feature that was a MUST was the button to disable the turntable. Heating a 9x13 pan that just bangs against the inside is a no go for me. That feature was very important. I do love the 4 settings for the light on the underneath side to light up the range below.

Great Replacement From an Older Whirplpool

This was purchased to replace a 10 year old Whirlpool microwave that stopped working. I honestly think this new one heats better and does not take as much time to do so. it had all the settings I wanted, though a few of them have to be found through settings, not a big deal. The rotating glass plate is smaller but again, not a big deal so far. What I was especially happy about was the mounting bracket and screw holes were the same, so no new drilling making the switch out an easy task.

Seams like it was designed by someone who doesn™™t use microwaves. You can adjust the scroll speed of the message display but you can™™t turn off the express start feature. So if you want to cook something for less than 30sec you have to press several other buttons to manually enter cook time and power level. When it™™s finished and you open and close the door, the display scrolls asking how much more time you would like to add instead of returning to the clock. The under hood light is too dim and too far toward the rear.

I bought the microwave 3 months ago and it never has worked correctly. Sometimes it works and other times it doesn't. I thought it was us not knowing how to correctly use it. Finally after getting frustrated I called and customer service said they would send someone out. No on showed up so I called again and that service person didn't fix microwaves. They put me on another list. I didn't hear from them and called a third time. They put me on another service list from a local service company. The service company came out Saturday and I actually had dealt with them before. They found the problem in the door and ordered parts. They are very good. The parts are ordered and hope to have the problem solved this week. I will write another review when the issue is resolved. I hope to give 5 stars then.

Liked my old one better! Don't like unable to use seconds to cook only 30 seconds. Often want 5 or 10 seconds only. Sensor timing not as good as my old one either, Baked potato does not have just 1 as a setting and it over bakes. Dont like the words printed on black background cannot read the in the dark like I could on my old one. Letters need to be brighter. Much harder to reset the moving plate when off the track than on the old one. Black glass looks nice but has to be wiped down after every use if you want it to look good.

I NEED some direction / advise as "HOW TO PROCEED". The microwave oven was installed earlier this month (JULY). Everything was working fine until my wife went to make some popcorn. She had the popcorn kernels on a glass dish and also had a plastic splash shield with 4 magnets attached to the upper surface inside the microwave oven. She set the control panel for cooking popcorn and pressed start and then walked away to watch TV. She fell asleep for a while and when she returned to the microwave oven, she found a severe mishap. The plastic shield from the roof of the oven was totally melted on the floor glass dish. Also, the microwave oven appeared totally dead. The display panel was totally blank and no internal cavity light. I checked for wall power and circuit breakers. Power was GOOD. I checked the unit for a power reset button or any other type of power reset but did not find any. Please advise of what my options are: (i.e. things to try, power reset options? Warranty repairs? local service contact? Scrap the unit? etc.)

This is my second Whirlpool microwave oven. I also had several Whirlpool stoves, dishwashers, and refrigerators. Needless to say, I like Whirlpool products. Although this new microwave model is a direct replacement for the previous model I had (lasted 9 years) and fit the old brackets exactly, I don't like the updated features of this one. It is much more user UN-friendly. The reheat options have changed, none of which are much help now. The cook time and power selections are not as easy to program as the last model. When cooking is done and you take the food out, the display does not return to the home screen like the previous model did. It stays lit asking if you want to add more time, so that you now have to hit the cancel button. Overall, it takes more button pressing steps that are not neccesary. I'd like to know what engineer thought these changes were a good idea. I'm sure they didn't ask real consumers!

The interior is also a big improvement. Much easier to keep clean. The control pad options are more intuitive and easy to use. So many programmed cooking functions. Has 1, 2, and 3 minute one-touch programmed cook cycles. Only issue is end of cycle notification is not working. It keeps but barely audible. Have to call service to get this,addressed.

Hard to review when I have problems using it. NO, how to use the product brochure came with it. My entire kitchen is Whirlpool. After 10 years my microwave and induction stove top broke. Can not understand WHY you do not provide a brochure on how to use. If you do not want to print paper, how about a link. Not using a third-party hacker. This microwave stopped working for no reason while still under warranty. We opened a claim on May 29 and had 4 or 5 scheduled repair services and the microwave is still not fixed. The customer service department was not helpful at all and one rep placed me on hold and never came back to the line. Worst experience ever! I do not recommend buying this product.

We had to replace a 24 year old microhood - handle broke. The functions of this were identical to the old unit, and we love the dinner plate and sensor cook function in a microwave. It has done admirably in operating. Aesthetically it could have a less ™in your face™ display. The harsh blue LED displays (on everything nowadays) is not as friendly as the green LEDs of yesteryear. That was my only criticism.

I liked my old microwave better, the reheat is more of a pain when you hit it you have to keep hitting the button until you find the option you want but it says 60 options but only 4 come up my old one I just hit reheat and start. used it a lot. Also, no user manual came with the microwave. also, the cook button works the same way it has 40 options and 4 come up when pushing the button. Also, this microwave is louder even my wife commented about how loud it is. soften option same 50 options but only a few come up when hitting the button. It would be ok if a user manual had a list of to reheat an item push the button and hit say 25 and start but no Manual. So, I will have to go online and copy one which I hate doing. not the same thing has having a booklet. Capacity is fine cleaning it is good. ( It does bother me that as much as you pay, for it they don't add a user's manual). My old Microwave I did not need one. Of course they don't make it anymore.

Love this microwave. Cooks abs guests food quickly. The size fits perfectly above our stove but is bigger inside than our previous microwave.

This was included as a new appliance in our new home. Very happy with it. Works well and is mostly intuitive to use. Might be nice to have feature that holding the light or fan buttons turns them off rather than having to cycle through to get to the off.

Beautiful, Great Microwave!

I bought this last month and chose a Whirlpool to replace a GE because we™™ve had Whirlpool appliances in our previous home and loved them. So far this microwave is living up to expectations. It looks beautiful with its modern design and the selection of buttons makes it easy. Also love the nonstick interior!
