Quiet Spin 360 Technology Now you can place your laundry pair virtually anywhere and be assured of balanced performance and vibration control. The washer takes into account where it's installed and adapts to improve its balance over time. A built-in accelerometer and dual-ring ball-balancing keep the wash basket centered at all times.

Smart Temperature Control Helps Reduce Shrinking and Color Bleeding The Care Control temperature management system enabled by 6th Sense™ technology helps protect your clothes by controlling water amount and temperature.

Responsive Technology Saves You Water, Energy and Money The H2Low™ system enabled by 6th Sense™ technology uses less water per load while delivering better cleaning performance and gentleness than a traditional top load washer.

Keep Operational Sounds Inside the Washer With the Quiet Wash noise reduction system, sound-absorbing materials around the wash basket or drum reduce operational noise.

EcoBoost Option Get additional energy efficiency without giving up cleaning performance. This option lowers water temperature and increases the tumbling action to use less energy while still delivering great cleaning and gentle performance.

ENERGY STAR® Qualified Meets government standards to help conserve natural resources and save money on utility bills.

CEE Tier III Qualified Based on the Consortium for Energy Efficiency qualified product listings--with Tier III being the most efficient. This model features advanced water & energy savings and may qualify for rebates from local utility companies.

Direct Inject Wash System Penetrates stains and pretreats soils with a concentrated burst of detergent virtually eliminating the need to pretreat. The wash cycle begins only after the entire load has been treated.

Precision Dispense Penetrates stains and pretreats soils with a concentrated burst of detergent. The wash cycle begins only after the entire load has been treated.

Care Control Temperature Management Adjusts the cold and hot water inlets to reach temperatures that are warm enough to dissolve detergents. Water is kept from overheating to help reduce shrinking and/or color bleeding.

Direct Drive Motor The direct drive motor allows the washer to spin faster, and it uses fewer moving parts, so there's less wear and tear over time.

Stainless Steel Wash Basket Resists odors, rust and chipping. The smooth surface helps protect delicate fabrics from snagging.

Clean Washer Cycle with Affresh® Use this cycle once a month with Affresh® washer cleaner, to eliminate odor-causing soap residue and mildew that can build up as a result of regular everyday washing. This cycle uses a higher water level and hot water to remove buildup.

Delicate Cycle A reduced agitation speed and low spin speed provide needed fabric care without sacrificing cleaning performance.

Quick Wash Cycle Clean small, lightly soiled loads in less time. Plus, increased spin speeds extract more water for faster dry times.

Bulky Items Cycle Ideal for cleaning bulky items like comforters, sleeping bags, down jackets or pillows, all of which fit easily into the wash basket.

Whitest Whites Cycle Raises water tempeatures and releases bleach or an oxygen-based cleaner at the optimal moment to enhance whitening performance.

Cradle Clean™ Technology Simulates hand washing during extra care cycles by "rocking" the tilted wash drum instead of spinning it.

Automatic Water Level Control Regulates the amount of water based on the size of the load. Only the amount needed to clean is used, increasing efficiency and helping the environment.

Add-A-Garment Indicator Light Illuminates for the first 8 minutes of the wash cycle as a convenient reminder that forgotten items can still be added to the load in progress.

LED Display Provides easy selection for all options, displays time remaining and status for the cycle.

Allergen Cycle The Allergen cycle has been tested to remove up to 95% of harmful allergens 1 from your clothes.

Professional delivery and installation is available for every product we sell. We would be happy to coordinate delivery and installation for you.

Extended warranties are usually very inexpensive and can save you thousands in the future. Some can even cover extra costs that result, such as cost of food that spoils when your fridge dies. It's simple and inexpensive to purchase extended warranties and one of the smartest ways to protect your investment.

Appliances can be large, heavy and expensive. You probably don't have the special tools or expertise needed to fix them in a crisis. If you can spare a few thousand dollars without batting an eyelash for new appliances should they break tomorrow, don't buy a warranty. But if you're like most of us, protect yourself by purchasing inexpensive extended warranties when you buy a new product and save yourself big money in the long run.

OK for a while, but didn't last like it should.

Neal3897 9/23/2019

We quickly learned how to keep it at least reasonably fresh smelling, so that wasn't so bad. 3 years in the front door seal started leaking. Bought a new one (which was an improved design), reviewed the videos and replaced it without too much problem. 5 years old and we get a new error message that means the two main circuit boards are not communicating (main board and motor control board). Checked the wiring harnesses between the two, check the connections, checked for continuity & everything checked out fine. That means one of the boards is bad, but you can't tell which one. On line, the motor board is about $250 and the main board is about $350. We decided to go buy a new top loader instead. And not a Whirlpool.

Still going strong

OM18V 1/24/2019

We purchased this unit and the matching dryer sometime in 2012. Both have been very reliable with no issues. Washer cleans well and spins almost all water out of clothing for quick drying. My wife uses the quickwash cycle most often. Usually I use the normal cycle. We do have the odor issue that most people struggle with on front loaders. Bleach only helps, white vinegar also helps. Affresh tablets help to some degree but the odor is only diminished, never eliminated with any option.

Cannot stand this washer

Cnsoutlet 10/16/2018

I am very disappointed I this machine. My brother thought I needed a newer machine and convinced me to buy this. When I wash some rungs the unit will not spin the water out of them. On other items if it is a small load they will not spin. I do not feel my clothes come out as clean compared to my old top load washer. Very disappointed

Wish I would have listened to my husband...

Sariah33 9/8/2018

and bought a top loader. This washer has been spotty at best. When it's working, it's ok. When it's not working, forget about it. It has sucked up more socks than I ever thought a washer could and caused drainage problems that make it a real chore to clean up afterwards. The front flap is terrible, as it catches all kind of lint, causing even more drainage issues. I need something way more reliable in my life having 4 kids and seemingly endless laundry to do. And the washer is already out of warranty. Help!!!

Good washer but quality and reliability issues.

7/21/2016

When this washer works it has excellent performance. However, after less than five years we experienced a catastrophic failure of the machine that is not covered by the warranty. Frankly, given the cost of this model we expected a higher quality level. Our previous washer was also a Whirlpool front loader that lasted eight years before total failure. Prior to that we had a whirlpool top loader that was still working after 20 years of heavy use. The top loader costs a fraction of what we paid for the newer models. Obviously, the top loaders are more sophisticated products with multiple features, advanced electronics and more powerful motors. However, considering the purchase price combined with the repair bills over the lifespan of the washer, the older, simpler top loaders are a significantly better deal. I would recommend someone considering a front loader check out alternative brands that have a reputation for superior quality.

Stay away! Worst Washer Ever!!!

Wiseowl 11/13/2015

We purchased this less than 3years ago and It's motor board died and the repair man said it would cost $425.00 to fix/replace it. Everyone I have talked to including repair companies say nothing but bad things about front loaders and the addition of more technology. With washers less is more and will last you a lot longer. So we went out and purchased another ____ top loader with the least amount of new technology most similar to the one we owned b4 that lasted 15years and 6 moves!!! We will never purchase another Whirlpool nor another front loader. Another side note that someone told me to keep front loader from stinking you must leave door ajar and the afresh does not clean it!

Piece of junk!

Khill 12/27/2014

Washing machine broke approximately 14 months after purchasing. Warranty was void after 12 months. The switch and harness that makes the water fill corroded. After installing a new one it corroded again 11 months later. Now we are having to replace the same part again. I don't see how to prevent the corrosion from happening due to the fact that there will always be moisture there from where the water fills. Looks like I'm going to average replacing this $100 part once a year. I will never purchase another Whirlpool appliance again.

I bought this washer over 2 years ago and I still love it. I throw everything from my delicates to old dog blankets in it (not at the same time mind you), and on the right settings, they all come out clean and fresh smelling. I've even washed some queen - sized comforters with good results.

Switched to Front Loader

ThePrimeDirective 5/14/2014

My 28 year old Kenmore Elite top loader (which appears to be a rebranded Whirlpool) was near end of life and had to go. I was skeptical that a front loader would provide the same cleaning performance as a top loader, but nevertheless, I made the switch. I was pleasantly surprised by the equal or better cleaning performance while also using a lot less water. It is also nice to be able to wash large bulky items (there is a special cycle to handle them) without an agitator in the way. Lack of an agitator also reduces wear and tear on delicate items. The high speed spin gets out so much water that dryer time is substantially less than wash time. There must be some sort of dynamic load balancing; there has never been a problem with balance or vibration during the spin cycle. On the negative side, this particular model has a reduced feature set. It is missing the fourth dispenser compartment (for color safe bleach) and some of the specialized wash cycles. There is a whining sound when the spin cycle gets revved up.??These are minor issues; I am quite satisfied with the purchase.

Great washer

Paula71 3/27/2014

I have only had this washer since February but so far I love it. The cycle times are much longer but my clothes seem so clean and fresh that the longer time does not bother me at all. I love the large size, no more taking my king size comforter to the laundromat. I especially love the fan fresh setting. Sometime I put a load in but will not be home when it is done so having this option keeps it from getting smelly.

My new front load washer is a dream come true!

Shurburck 3/26/2014

I went from a top loader to this front loader. I love how much laundry I can fit in one load. I love that it has cut the drying time in half. I love the front load vs. the top load. It is easy to use and has never smelled musty or dirty. The one issue I have on occasion is that my daughter's socks get caught inside the rubber liner in the front but its not a big deal as long as I remeber to check there if I'm missing a sock. It's very quiet, it uses a ton less soap and water, and it cleans the clothes beautifully.

This product has allowed more freetime for my Wife.

Jimbo1503 1/2/2014

With the design of the front drum we are allowed to wash more clothes at a time, both allowing less time washing and energy savings. The clothes come out clean and fresh smelling due to the regular cleaning of the drum cycle. We are pet owners and this washer cleans out the stains and hair you get from your pets from time to time. When we have friends over my wife likes to show off her new washer. everybody talks about the style and great look of it. When we explain all the savings and also including the HE system which use less laundry detergent, they are all impressed. We also like the fast spin cycle, which allows us not to have to dry our clothes as long as we did before making our older dryer cost less to operate as well. My wife any Myself would recommend this washer to anyone we meet.

This is my first experience with computerized smart technology on this washer/dryer combo. I was sceptical at first but I am very pleased with the products capabilities.I would like to see an added feature that runs heated air into the washing chamber to dry out the drum after expelling the wash. This would eliminate the odors of stagnant water or having to do a wipe down of the rubber seal.

Easy to use washer

laundrynight 11/9/2013

So far this has been a good washer. It appears to be well made and is easy to use . I wish it had a filter that could be cleaned easily. Our last washer had a filter the water cycled through that could be easily cleaned. .The preset settings are helpful, but I wish there was a complete manual option that would allow me to choose what I want for time / temp / speed without limitations

Love It!

FandRmom 11/8/2013

Quite simply put, this is the best washing machine that I have ever owned. I have commented to my husband that we are either the cleanest or the dirtiest people around because I do laundry most every day. I love the capacity! The clothes wash beautifully and take less time to dry as the spin cycle is very efficient.I do not leave my washing machine running if I am not at home, but I really enjoy the air cycle, if I am busy and don't get to the clothes by the end of the cycle, it just keeps them fluffing until I get back to them. This is the third front loader that I have owned, the previous ones developed a musty, sour odor, the first one was so bad that I had to get rid of it....it was not a Whirlpool. Not so with this one, which brings me to the clean cycle. It tells me when I have done 30 loads, at which time I toss in an Affresh to clean the machine.I really have been pleased with this machine, it does what it is supposed to do and does it very well!!!

The washer works fine and it is nice to be able to do a larg

Sparky69 11/8/2013

Overall we like the unit. We bought the unit less than 1 yr. ago and the power button light went out on it. A little concerned that this is a pre-cursor of future problems.

We love our Whirlpool Duet with the Steam Feature(Dryer) for wrinkles. Simply, washer and dryer are great, easy to use and very efficient. Just do it!

Better for not-so-dirty households

EmmieK82 11/7/2013

I've had this washer for over a year now and I can't say I love it, but I have gotten better at using it and so it will work for now. My biggest gripe with this machine is the lack of water it uses. The water level is very low on most cycles and just plain not enough on others. The concept was designed with efficiency in mind, but if I have to run some loads twice to make sure the clothes get clean that is not efficient at all. My household is a messy one (2 boys and 1 plumber) so I need my clothes to be CLEAN. This washer barely puts out enough water to reach the bottom of the door so I'm not always confidant my clothes have been thoroughly washed. Stains are also a big problem because there is usually not enough water in the drum to get them out so my whites are dingier and I have to hand wash badly stained items. Overall, this washer performs as designed, but it does not work for me. Also, the loads are very long ones which nullify my water savings.

my granddaughters bring their fine clothes and stained clothes over for me to wash. Gets unbelievable stains out. I just wish I could trade the side the door opens on.

Love the features.

Fan fresh was a great addition. No more smelly clothes because someone forgot they'd washed a load. Easy enough that teenagers will use it. Gentler on clothes and things that unexpectedly end up getting washed. Cuts drying time dramatically.

Easy to use

This is a very smart washer. It cleans clothes very nicely and lets you know when it's time to be cleaned. The only hiccup with this appliance is that the door on the washer is not reversible.

I love all the features of this machine

momh 11/7/2013

I love everything about this machine and for the first few months I had it I thought it was the best machine I have had. Now a few more months have gone by and I am wondering why they put such a large tub in a machine when if I fill it up, all the soap suds does not come out of the clothes and I have yuck on the clean clothes, sheets, towels, etc. Maybe for the first few months I was doing small loads but now it seems I have to be extremely careful about load size.

Good machine with some irksome quirks.

JFerlingB 11/7/2013

The irksomes: While not unique to this machine, the constant mopping out of water and debris from the door seal is a pain--pretty much needs it after every load. It's a bit confusing when it comes to getting the machine to do something you specifically want; case in point: re-spinning a load that didn't get enough water extraction. Instead of having a re-spin selection on the control, you have to select "rinse/drain & spin" and then de-select "extra rinse" to obtain a spin-only cycle. Seems to be a backwards way of doing a commonly needed operation. It would be nice to have a larger capacity fabric softener cup for the increasing number of users who prefer using good old white vinegar for their towels. It would help to have another large dispenser for adding alternative washing solutions. On the plus side, when the load balances well, the water extraction from a high-speed spin is very good. Clothes usually clean up well without damage.
