Definitely NOT worth the money....problems abound

The claim that you can wash 12 pairs of jeans in a single load - not adult jeans, not if you want them clean. At the most we can wash 6 pair of adult jeans (and we're not large people) or the jeans don't get clean. As for the plastic covering the buttons you push to start, etc this machine - yes, it didn't take a couple of years before the plastic wore through and the button is exposed. We have had the washer and dryer (match set) since Oct 2007 (it is now Sept 2016) and we've had the service person out here multiple times for the washer. There's a leak and it's still not fixed. The seal at the front was replaced but come to find out that's not where the leak originates - that still hasn't been determined. So we have a pan under the washer and must dump the leaked water after every load. This was an expensive machine and we bought it because - we were told front loading washes better and with less detergent (NOT true as far as we've experienced), you can wash 12-15 pairs of jeans in a single load (NOT true for us if you want the clothes clean), and it's very quiet (not true...still as noisy as our old Kenmore). I noticed there is a class action suit against Whirlpool for a "mold" issue - we would probably have that problem too but I keep the door open after every wash so the tub dries out. This was something I read that you have to do with front loaders - no more closing the door when a load is running. The water leak is now a constant problem and after spending several hundred dollars and still not fixed we've decided to look into a new washer....and definitely NOT a whirlpool. Our model is WFW8400TW00....for those who want to compare complaints.

The magnetic door lock is a common problem seen on-line and for me. Constantly get the "F29" code on the machine and have to spend hours trying to get the door unlocked. Now the machine will shut off before a cycle is complete. I have always been a loyal Whirlpool customer but will NEVER purchase another product with the Whirlpool name attached.

I have had this washer for several years. I am happy with the performance of the washer, but after only 3 years the plastic covering the buttons has broken as has the start button. This has happened on both the washer and dryer. It is very expensive to replace.I have always been brand loyal to Whirlpool because of their quality, but no more.
