The worst freezer design

I moved into a house that already had this fridge. I thought, an ice maker in the freezer next to the floor - okay, let's do this. After 6 months of use, I've decided that it could work if the freezer drawer actually had a bottom. This freezer has no bottom. The drawer is open on the bottom so anything that falls through the wire shelves falls to the bottom of the freezer floor or onto the floor in front of the fridge. When the ice bin is full, the volume sensor pushes ice out of the bin. We are constantly getting ice that falls onto the floor. The least whirlpool could have done was put the ice maker in the door of the fridge or a bottom on the freezer drawer. Don't ever make this design again, Whirlpool.
