Cheap Looking, Poor quality, Way Overpriced.

Cheap plastic interior, ice maker is useless. Very limited space. Had to replace my original purchased as it did not cool/freeze from day one. This was an additonal ordeal that took more 30 days to rectify. The local Kitchen Aid representative was absolutely useless. I purchased because I needed panel ready. It does look good with the panels but even my cabinet maker noted how sketchy the dimensions for the build were. Also had a repair guy look at the 1st faulty unit and he advised purchasing the warranty due to costly repairs for this model. Unless you have to have a panel ready refrigerator, I would advise you look elsewhere.

Our 27 yr old Kitchen Aid died this spring costing more to fix than it was worth so we needed to buy a replacement. After going through our options, we ended up purchasing another KitchenAid French door bottom freezer. Other than the 2+ month wait without a main floor refrigerator/freezer we our now into our second week of ownership. I made the panels myself to match the other kitchen cabinets so was a little anxious that they would fit but slipped them into the trim pieces without ant problems and it looks great. Love the full width French doors as our old one was a side by side. Plenty of space and drawers in the fridge with great LED lighting. Freezer is fine but ice container is a little awkward to get to and some sliding shelves would have been a convenient way to get at frozen items. Otherwise, pleased so far with the purchase

NOT INTEGRATED FRIDGE Very Misleading Description

Despite the highly misleading description on their website ("this built-in stainless steel French door refrigerator will seamlessly integrate with your cabinetry"), this fridge is NOT built to allow the panels to integrate with your cabinets. I genuinely do not understand why anyone would purchase a built-in PANEL READY fridge that is designed to stand proud of your cabinetry and expose its industrial hinges on each side. There is no application for this panel ready fridge that would look professional and intentional. After spending 40 minutes on hold with KitchenAid, I was further transferred to the 'built-in appliance' department, where their rep spent another 30 minutes trying to convince me that it was indeed designed to be flush with the cabinets and that it was an installation problem. We agreed what flush meant - integrated at same level as cabinets. Having already explored our options with our cabinet maker and installation teams and further reviewing the installation documents, it was mind-blowing that she was insisting on information that was not correct. Finally, after being told repeatedly that it was an installation problem and being put on hold again, she returned to say 'yes, the panels on this model do sit proud of the adjacent cabinetry'. A huge waste of time and a customer service issue. My actual question was now that we have this totally disappointing fridge, where the custom panels will not integrate with the cabinets, can we replace the door to standard stainless steel since they do sit proud. No, you can not. I am so disappointed in this product and the misleading description on the KitchenAid website. I am further disappointed in the lack of customer service and time wasted speaking to their rep. I would avoid this fridge at all costs.

I wish I had bought just the regular refrigerator instead of this built in (the only reason I purchased the built in was to replace the built in that was came with our home). on the positive side, the old builtin had apparently lasted for over 20 years; however, I do not anticipate that this newer one will last that long. This refrigerator does NOT seem to have as much space as the older model and the interior appears to be much "dimmer" (i.e., not well lighted, in my opinion). This model does not have a compartment designed for butter (no compartment has a cover that the older model did have). The freezer section in this newer model seems much smaller than the older model, and it too seems not well lighted. I would do further research if I had to buy again.

Extraordinary space in refrigerator.

I bought this refrigerator 1 month ago to replace another KitchenAid refrigerator of the same dimensions (side by side with water/ice dispenser in freezer door), which was 20 years old. We like the large storage in the refrigerator and convenience of a freezer drawer. One issue we have is there is not water dispenser in the refrigerator, which is no big deal as we have reverse osmosis faucet in the sink. The refrigerator looks great with the oak panel doors to match our cabinetry that were installed. The unit seems to be commercial grade, which should imply a long life.

We built our home and my "dream kitchen" was filled with Kitchenaid appliances. This refrigerator has been nothing but problems. Thankfully we purchased the extended warranty from the National chain store where we bought this refrigerator. After so many service calls they gave up. There are several design flaws (doors don't fully open with recommended panels, appliance protruded 2" out from standard counter depth, nightmare to install as other reviews have noted) but in our case the LED lights that "never need replacing" keep burning out, or they strobe to the point of giving me vertigo. The computer panel and all light have been replaced by professionals numerous times to no avail. While we were refunded our full purchase price and given this refrigerator for free we don't want it and now with the uptick in prices we have to pay over $2,000 to replace it if we were to trust a Kitchenaid replacement. I'm sorry to say that I can not recommend this refrigerator.

Two things to note- this fridge does show the hinges more than some competing brands (you have a one inch space around the fridge. Also there is no filtered water. Ice maker cubes will freeze together if not watched. Fridge is good and works fine but please note the spacing

Last kitchenaid lasted 19 years, 2 repairs in its lifetime. In 1 1/2 years this new one has needed service 4 times already. Pretty sure this one won't last 5 years. Totally not worth $6000.

Good keeps fresher longer

Have had the fridge for a short time but absolutely love it! It really does keep the food fresher for longer. I love the separate fruit and veggie bins ... lots of room. As well, the drawer below is large and deep ... perfect for cheeses, meats and breads. Heavy duty doors shut easily. Bins on the doors can hold large bottles. And wine holder has been kept busy during COVID. The freezer is very cold and has ample storage. The ice cubes are clear and fresh tasting. Overall rating - top notch!!! I highly recommend this built-in fridge.

Nice fridge - BUT lighting is a problem!!

Overall a nice fridge we were pleased with - until about 1 year into using it. Lighting is a HUGE problem - the LED lights that according to the user manual should never need replacement and are VERY expensive keep failing. Started with a couple lights, then 6 incl. freezer compartment got replaced them with warranty service (OEM parts), incl. control boards, then new ones failed again, and as of today ZERO lights are working. Lots of reports about lighting problems out there, and no good fix offered by Kitchenaid. Not happy about now using a flashlight to find stuff in a $7K+ fridge ...

It's a nice enough fridge regarding features and build quality, however, installation is a complete nightmare. This fridge is not counter depth and does not "seamlessly integrate into your cabninets like it claims. It will stick out and will not look seamless at all. If you want to hide your fridge or blend smoothly into your cabinets stay far, FAR away. We're a new build, so had a fresh start and blank slate.Our installer spent hours on the phone with Kitchen Aid and even had the manuals. We did everything we could to prepare and were told many times that this would work and it simply does not. Nothing is flush, nothing lines up, and the fridge is ultimately desinged to stick out. This is not the fault of installer, this fridge is simply not designed to achieve the look it claims to give you. Unlike other integrated units that are properly designed, this will not give you the look you want. Given how expensive this fridge is, and how unhelpful support has been, we have to stick with it and are now completely redesiging a section of our fully installed kitchen. It's a nightmare. Please do yourself a favor and keep shopping if you're looking for a seamless, integrated, panel fridge experience -- this is not the fridge you're looking for.

In the recent past, I've purchased a duel fuel double oven range (a high quality machine) and a refrigerator/freezer for an apartment (which I like a lot, and it also has French doors). Now I have this very expensive, very large French door panel-ready refrigerator. This refrigerator is a HUGE disappointment. There were no photos of the interior available when we purchased it, so we had to rely on a floor model that was supposed to be very similar - it wasn't. The available storage space is much less than anticipated (see photos). The produce compartments are miniscule. To open one of the produce doors you need to have both exterior doors open otherwise the drawer hits to door. The interior of the refrigerator is very shallow. Even the storage space on the insides of the doors is more limited than much smaller French door models we've had in other houses: I can't even fit the butter container in the door because the holder is too narrow at the top and the container lid catches on it. I am also not a fan of the platinum interior - too dark. Were it to do all over again, I would select another refrigerator. I purchased this appliance because I have never been disappointed by Kitchenaid. The record is now broken.

Not what I expected in a Kitchenaid Appliance

I love Kitchenaid appliance - small appliance and major appliances. I just purchased a Kitchenaid induction cooktop (5 stars) for the same kitchen. Doesn't work

This refrigerator was purchased at the end of December 2018 and worked for 3 days. Called out a technician and he stated there was a freon leak. Kitchenaid was contacted and they are willing to replace it but now it's been nearly 6 weeks and I still don't have a new refrigerator.

Our previous side-by-side Kitchen Aid died after 17 years so we replaced with another Kitchen Aid. After 6 weeks, still trying to adjust to French Door design. Less room, particularly for fresh vegetables and fruit, is an issue so far. Veggie drawer only holds one pack of salad with small bag of carrots. Just making more trips to the store.

Very poor quality- very expensive to fix

Our $9000 Kitchen aid built in fridge is 10 years old and required $1,500 in repairs for a faulty control board. The original control board is discontinued (my guess is because they found that it was faulty) and it will now cost even more for the repair man to rebuild the current board. I am not sure why this appliance costs so much when there is no noticeable difference between this fridge and our last homes fridge (except for the fact that it is built in) and clearly you are not paying for quality. For this price I expect better quality control and longer lasting products. When we replace this fridge I will definitely buy another brand. Apparently the fridge has had lots of previous maintenance as well. The company told us that they have been out to our house with the previous owners multiple times. Its shocking to me that a $8,0000-$9,000 appliance could require so much maintenance in the first ten years of its life.

French door refrigerator

Bought this as a replacement for an older failing Sub Zero. Unit works very nice but the shelves in the doors are very small. A lot of space is lost due to the width of the molded shelf mounts in the door and the mating ends on the individual shelves. The french door design also loses some storage space compared to a single refrigerator door.
