For spending over $9,000, I would have expected a flawless, high-end experience. This fridge has been deeply disappointing:
™ The right door has a squeaking, almost scraping sound when opened.
™ There is some kind of drip (condensation?) from the left-side LED light atop the top rack.
™ I™™m not convinced the freezer stays cold enough. Ice cream sandwiches come out mushy.
™ The fridge shipped with an overabundance of overly-glued plastic covering the shelves and panels. Delivery crew couldn™™t get it all off. After a month, we still haven™™t been able to remove it all.
™ Icemaker seems far too slow and does not produce ice as quickly as we consume it.

After our house flooded with Hurricane Harvey the one thing I was excited about ordering were new appliances. I love the styling, features, and quality of KitchenAid products and was thrilled to purchase the 25.8 Cu. Ft. French Door refrigerator (KRMF706ESS), the beautiful dishwasher with a 3rd rack (KDTE304GPS), the 30" Double Oven with convection (KODE500ESS), and an enormous Microwave with a removable shelf for lots of options (KNHP519ESS) which had a special cherry cabinet built around it. Our kitchen was finally ready, just in time for Christmas 2018.
The refrigerator was the first to have issues, with the ice maker leaking, stopping, freezing the entire thing up which had to be thawed with a hair dryer. We replaced the ice container 6/20, motor, seal and shaft 8/20, I/M leaking and stopped cooling on both sides 6/22. In August 2023 the entire fridge had quit working correctly and would have cost over 1K for parts which 'might' have solved the issue.
Sadly our wonderful microwave started making a loud noise and quit running October 2023 and the technician gave us the news that the Magnetron shorted, and couldn't be fixed. We have a whole house surge protector so we know it wasn't caused by electrical issues.
Now in the summer of 2024 our dishwasher quit working correctly. The motor has died in the main wash assembly. It would cost more than $600 as the entire bottom of the unit must be replaced.
Since 3 of our 4 expensive KitchenAid appliances have failed I asked the technician about our very pricy oven which he warned us that if the heating element on the bottom goes out, the removal and repair for it will be astronomical, because of the way it is constructed.
[ ] I absolutely love these appliances, they were all top notch and had every feature I could ever want, but I can't believe that I have spent over $10,000 and am having to replace 3 of the 4 in less than 6 years! I CANNOT RECOMMEND ANY KITCHENAID PRODUCT.

Terrible Experience for the Price

I thought that I would offer my perspective as a longer-term owner of this refrigerator for two years now. After the first year of ownership multiple interior LED lights began to fail, and by the end of the second year, all lights had failed and the refrigerator is no longer cooling. I have called KitchenAid multiple times in order to have the unit serviced for repair. I had to do this using their contracted service technicians in my area, which were very disappointing. They have been out twice now and were unable to resolve the issue. They were supposed to show once again this morning, but instead blew off the appointment they had confirmed with me (well after the appointment time) and attempted to reschedule for next week. I had to fire them instead, opting to find a company myself, forcing me to pay the costs out of pocket. I have now been without an operating refrigerator for roughly a month. With a family of 5 this has been very challenging. I paid $9000 for this refrigerator on the expectation that it would be a superior product/customer service experience with the initial cost. I thought that KitchenAid was a reputable company that produced quality products and stood by them. I am coming to the realization that this refrigerator was instead priced at a premium to give the illusion of being a quality product. I have never had so much trouble with an appliance, nor paid so much for one in my life. At this point I just wish they would buy the unit back from me and I could just do what I should have done initially, buy a Sub Zero for an extra $1000. I write this as a warning to those who may be considering this product for their kitchen. It will look nice from the outside but your food will be spoiled and your patience exhausted.

Very Disappointing for the Price

I have owned this refrigerator for just over two years now and wanted to give some longer-term perspective for potential buyers. Roughly one year after having this unit installed, multiple interior LED lights began to go out (apparently a known issue). By the end of our second year, all of the lights have failed and the refrigerator is no longer cooling. The freezer still works but the refrigerator continues to give an ™over temp™ warning and holds temperature at 50 degrees. I have been dealing with KitchenAid and their contacted service provider in our area for 1 month now and after multiple visits we still have a refrigerator that will not cool. Their contracted technicians were supposed to arrive this morning after confirming with me yesterday and they blew off the appointment and attempted to reschedule for next week. As I said, it has not performed it™™s primary task of cooling for a month now, so I ultimately had to fire that company and go out on my own (now paying out of pocket no less) in order to have this issue resolved. I thought that at a $9000 price point that the product and customer experience would reflect the up-front cost but I have been disappointed it has not. Multiple calls with KitchenAid, countless hours on hold, a month gone by and I™™m having to start over and pay another company out of pocket to resolve this. A month with no refrigerator for a family of 5 has been very challenging. At this point I just wish I could sell it back to them and buy a Sub Zero for an extra $1000. I thought that KitchenAid was a more respected appliance company, but in my experience with this refrigerator it is just overpriced to give the illusion of superiority. I would suggest looking elsewhere if you are considering this unit.

Bought this fridge to replace existing built in as I did not want to have to mess with changing or modifying surrounding kitchen cabinets. Price was ridiculously high for such a small unit with basic features

Unit fits into space where previous unit was, Design sleek and glossy black finish is very attractive and does not show fingerprints. Layout OK but would prefer if vegetable drawer could be opened without having to open both refrigerator doors. Otherwise lots of useful space in very useful layout in both the refrigerator and freezer.

We bought this KitchenAid refrigerator to replace our 30 year old SubZero. I could not be happier with this purchase. I have read some of the reviews that have one or two stars and I just had to stand up for this great machine. This fridge is beautiful inside, and although I had to get used to the new design, I find this unit just as ample as my old one. The temp is steady and exactly spot on. The freezer keeps my frozen items perfect. I just love the black stainless color and with four grandchildren you cannot beg it to show a fingerprint, and after the 30 year old SubZero the silence is golden. If you are looking for a built in, you should try this one a try.
